More than Empathy

When reading Quranic verses, I think, we're encouraged to have not only empathy, but also contrapathy (having the opposite emotional reactions).
e.g. In surah alMutaffifin: Allah desribed the deniers of the Day of Judgement. Allah swt describes the deniers thoughts and verbal actions. It is as if Allah wants us to 'be' in the deniers' head (empathy), but not to sympathize with them. But doing perspective taking, we would understand why they deny the Day of Judgement. And why they reject Allah's messenger (see surah alMulk). We're supposed to judge the deniers; it is Allah swt who will judge them.
Rather, Allah swt wants us to feel and think differently about the Day of Judgement) - contrapahty - and take the appropriate actions. After describing the deniers, Allah describes the fate of the virtuous. Allah describes Jannah and all the good things in it. Not only we're empathizing with the deniers, we're being motivated to take the steps towards Jannah as one of the virtuous people.
