Centre of a Research Problem

Here are types of research problem that PG students are writing into their thesis

1. supervisor-centred problem
- you're working on a project that your SV is working on.

2. research-centred problem
- you're trying to improve the existing research e.g. by pushing the theoretical boundaries
e.g. Can the theory of planned behavior account for the low rate of reporting for medication error among hospital staff?

3. industry-centred problem
- you're solving a practical problem faced by the industry of their people
e.g. How can we reduce the barriers of medication error reporting among hospital staff?

4. researcher-centred problem
- unless you also have one of the above types of problem, you're likely to work on a weak self-centred problem
e.g. I am doing a research on medication error because one of my loved ones was harmed due to medication error
