Buttermilk biscuit quick and easy
Had craving for buttermilk biscuits for a few days already. Got the time to do it last evening, just before maghrib time. It was an easy and quick recipe to follow:
Mix in a bowl: 2 cups flour + 1/4 teaspoon baking soda + 1 tablespoon baking powder + a pinch of salt.
Cut very cold (perhaps Queen Elsa can help) butter (about 6 tablespoon) and knead into the flour more or less evenly. Don't knead too long with your hands to avoid melting the butter. This one is not worth melting for.
Pour a cup of buttermilk (i used yogurt today) and quickly form a soft wet dough. Again, don't work the dough too long. It doesn't pay overtime.
Divide the dough into desired size and bake in a pre-heated oven until golden (the biscuits, not the oven). Be careful not to let the biscuits spend too long in the oven. So, don't watch a movie while waiting for the biscuits to exude their seductive aroma and tantalizing colour.
Best eaten when still warm; with or without Olaf.
